Alabama A&M Student Post Recieves SAME National Honor
Congratulations to Alabama A&M's student post for winning the 2013/14 Distinguished Student Chapter Award presented in May 2014 at the JETC Conference in Orlando. The award recognizes the best student chapters across the U.S. that promote mentoring of students, organize K-12 outreach programs promoting careers in engineering, host interdisciplinary events, and volunteer for community service.
The SAME Huntsville Post chartered the Alabama A&M student chapter in October 2011, and the chapter has grown both in numbers as well as influence since its founding. "I am very proud of our student chapter because I feel like they exemplify the characteristics we are looking for in future leaders in military engineering," said Kimberly Edwards, project manager with USAESCH and student chapter liaison for SAME Huntsville Post.

SAME Engineering & Construction Camp applications are open!
The Society of American Military Engineers offers a very unique series of engineering camps designed for High School students who excel in math, science and technical courses and are interested in pursuing engineering in college. These one–week camps are high energy, hands–on events for students from across the country and around the world. The camps are led by a professional staff of engineers from both private industry and the military services. These exciting week–long camps take place during the summer months centered on a military base in the colorful Colorado Rockies, or the historic Mississippi Valley.
Each camp has it own unique focus and theme and is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn what engineers do from professional engineers, learn practical skills and gain exposure to the military services. Your first step is to determine if you are eligible and then go through the application process for the camp you select.
