SAME Huntsville Post End of Year Data Call and Announcements

Every year our post has to provide SAME Headquarters information regarding our STEM, Veteran, and Community Service activities.  Please help us provide the required information by taking the following survey:   SURVEY  
The survey is 9 questions long and it will take less than 5 min to fill out.  Please complete the survey by December 20th.  

 

 

We are changing our venue for our monthly meetings starting in January 2017!  We will also have meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Please save the date for January 12th.  We are very excited about this change and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Care Packages

The Huntsville Post is seeking donations so we can assemble care packages for the troops for receipt in December. This year we'll be assembling and sending care packages to troops deployed in Afghanistan. Our goal is for more than 500 lbs of goodies.
 
Items Needed:

1. ground coffee

2. international calling cards

3. itunes gift cards

4. Snacks, such as:

   1. Energy Bars

   2. Beef Jerky

   3. Trail Mix

   4. Nuts

   5. Sunflower Seeds

   6. Granola bars

   7. Candy (hard type, chocolate is OK this time of year---- UNLOAD your unwanted Halloween Candy!)

   8. Ready-to-eat Tuna or Chicken Salad kits

   9. Cookies

   10. Single serving Powdered Beverage Mixes

   11. Single serving boxes of cold cereal

   12. Single serving packets of hot cereal

5. Personal Care Products, such as:

   1. Lip Balm

   2. sunscreen

   3. hand lotion (travel size)

   4. Individual packets of moist towelettes

   5. Hand/Foot Warmers

6. Blank greeting cards or Stationery

7. puzzle books (crosswords, sudoku, etc.)

8. stationery

9. Thank you letters (boys scouts, girls scouts, school children's letter's, too)

10. Donations to cover shipping

If you would like to give a monetary donation then we will use that to purchase items on your behalf from the list above.  If you want to support this effort please contact Ms. Lael Feist by email: lfeist@hgl.com.  Please donate by December 2nd!


Volunteers Needed!
The annual MATHCOUNTS competition for the Madison/Limestone county area will be held on Saturday, 4 February 2017, at Liberty Middle School in Madison.  We are in need of volunteers to help support this event.  Please contact Ms. Connie Gibson by email: cfgipson@yahoo.com if you are interested in supporting this event.  

Project STEMulation Support
We are in need of donations in support of our initiative called Project STEMulation.  The SAME Huntsville Post has adopted a local STEM program and they are in the need of the following items:

• mentors to donate their time

• funding to support the cost of the STEM program

• computers and tablets
