Care Package for the Troops

The Huntsville Post collected 161 lbs of goodies sent out just before Christmas 2017.

"I wanted to take a moment to thank you and The Society of American Military Engineers of Huntsville, AL for donating care packages to the Paratroopers assigned to Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment.  We are currently deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, conducting operations to enable the Afghan National Defense Security Forces as they reclaim ground and strengthen the Government of Afghanistan in the province.

For many Paratroopers, this is the first holiday away from their family.  The generous support of your organization and many other groups / individuals has been truly impressive.  This is my fourth deployment and I have not seen such a large outpouring.  For our guys, it is truly appreciated and just helps make the holidays more festive here in Afghanistan.  While we are in a remote place, we are fortunate to have many activities planned, to include a huge Christmas feast.  While business doesn't stop, the guys will have the opportunity to enjoy the holiday and call back home to family and friends.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us here in Afghanistan and thank you again for your support.

Airborne, All the Way! Strike Hold!"
